Eclipse provides premium editing services to the scientific community. We specialize in working with non-native English speaking scientists and engineers to help them communicate their results effectively. Our editing services can be divided into three types, which are dependent on the assignment.

Substantive Editing

International and non-native English speaking Scientists will typically seek Eclipse for Substantive Editing. Substantive Editing is a comprehensive evaluation and improvement of the entire project.

• Re-organize words, sentences, paragraphs and/or sections to improve the readability and flow of information.
• Improve the overall clairity.
• Work with the author(s) to assure proper communication of the project's central ideas and concepts.

Copy Editing

Documents that are well structured, but may still need revisions to improve fluency. Copy Editing is a service that can be readily done by Eclipse with minimal input from authors.

• Check for overall fluency and clairity.
• Correct inconsistencies, misprints or errors.
• Check figure and table legends for conciseness and accuracy.
• Check in-text references to figures, tables and equations.

Proofreading

Projects that use fluent English and are well-structured may only need minor improvements. Proofreading is a simple, economical service we provide that is useful to all scientific writers.

• Check spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax and consistency.
• Check for typographical errors.
• Check for compatability with publisher's format and style requirements.
